The start of the new year in the winter silence is a powerful time to listen closely and get clear about what matters most. In retreat, we can go deeper into meditation practice to let go of confused suffering states and get insight into our most authentic Self-nature. From this inner resource, we can make wiser and more compassionate choices, and appreciate what is most valuable in our lives.

Jonathan will skillfully guide us into embodied Presence and Open-hearted practices through mindfulness meditations and mindful therapeutic yoga. There will be sitting and walking meditation, loving-kindness meditations, dialogue and sharing, reflective journaling, deep relaxation, and dharma talks about practice. The yoga sessions will be gentle and accessible to everyone. Mornings until lunch will be held in silence to support inner reflection, mindful awareness, and a meditative environment. There is a sauna available, and you can book a professional massage with the resort. Importantly, there will be space in the day to just BE, unwind, and enjoy personal time.

Jonathan Weber 
is a leading teacher of mindfulness in Norway with 30 years of experience in Vipassana meditation and yoga and has been teaching mindfulness and compassion practice since 2006. He is a 500hr Mindful Therapeutic and Vinyasa yoga teacher and educated in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction through the IMA. He is the founder of the Mindful Yoga Education at Oslo Yoga, faculty of the 300hr Foundational Yoga TT, and a co-therapist in Maja Thune’s Therapeutic Yoga Education. Jonathan brings a natural warmth, deep wisdom, and calm presence to his inspired teaching.

Dharma Mountainis located in the beautiful Hedalen valley, Valdres, about 2 hrs drive from Oslo. There are popular skiing areas nearby, and you may choose to bring skis. Enjoy delicious vegetarian meals prepared with love (gluten, lactose free options or vegan possible, if booked in advance). Also, you may stay an extra night at the resort before or after to extend your retreat (for an added 450 kr.) Arrive for dinner on Thursday until lunch on Sunday afternoon.

How to get there by car:
Dharma Mountain is located in Hedalen (Valdres), 2 hours drive from Oslo. From Oslo, follow E16 towards Hønefoss, then pass Hønefoss, follow the directions towards Fagernes (still E16). Approximately one hour drive after Hønefoss, you come to Nes i Ådal. Here, turn left at the sign to Hedalen. Follow the road up the valley, about 11 km. Then you will see the sign of Dharma Mountain.

How to get here by bus or train:
From Oslo, you can travel with the bus “Valdresekspressen” to Nes i Ådal (2 hrs). From Bergen you can travel by train to Hønefoss or Nesbyen (about 4 hrs to Nesbyen). From Oslo Airport Gardermoen, you can take the bus or train to Oslo, and from there go with “Valdresekspressen” from Oslo as described above. Or you can go by the bus “Askeladden” to Hønefoss, and from there go with “Valdresekspressen” to Nes i Ådal.
