Dharma Silence Retreat

5. May - 10. May, 2026

Prem Lee and Leena

Welcome to experience the magic of silence at Dharma Mountain!

Dharma Silence Retreat is an introduction to meditation and silence – an invitation to turn your attention inward, to the calm that exists beyond thoughts. Whether you are a beginner or experienced, you can, in a safe and supportive environment, discover what meditation and deep silence can do for body, mind, and soul.

At Dharma Mountain, we are surrounded by quiet, majestic nature, which invites us to slow down, listen inward, and find the stillness within ourselves. Over six days, you will gradually become accustomed to silence and have the opportunity to rediscover your inner peace and balance, gaining a deeper connection with yourself.

Through guided meditations, mindful movement, yin yoga, and gentle, releasing exercises, your body and nervous system are supported in finding calm. The days follow a harmonious rhythm of meditation, movement, and rest, allowing presence and awareness to grow naturally.

Vipassana Meditation
Vipassana is originally a Buddhist meditation practice introduced by the Buddha more than 2,500 years ago. Vipassana is a seated meditation focused on awareness of the breath.
It is a very simple technique, where we sit in silence, completely relax the body, and observe the breath as it comes and goes. At the same time, we create distance from emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations, simply observing everything as it is. In this way, we gradually become more quiet, relaxed, and present.
Our approach is gentle and friendly, without effort or striving. You do not need any prior experience with Vipassana to participate. The meditation will be guided and supported throughout the retreat, so both new and experienced participants can benefit.

Meditations with Movement and Yoga
The Vipassana sittings are complemented and balanced with active meditations, mindful movement, and exercises that calm the body and nervous system. Some of the meditations include more movement, helping to release tension from body and mind. Other movement-based meditations are inspired by Yin Yoga, Tai Chi, and Qi Gong – these promote centering, presence, and relaxation of the body. In addition, you will be supported by gentle exercises designed to harmonize body and nervous system.

Forest Bathing and Silent Walking in Nature
During the retreat, you will experience forest bathing, meditation, and silent walks in the beautiful nature at the foot of Vassfaret National Park.
