Dahl is an indian stew made of lentils.

Ingredients

  • 320 g red lentils

  • 1 red onion

  • ca 2 cm piece of fresh ginger

  • Fresh coriander

  • 110 g canned tomatoes

  • 2 bay leaves

  • 1 tablespoon mustard seeds

  • 1 tablespoon cumin seeds

  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander

  • Olive oil

Directions

  • Cook the lentils.
  • Heat the oil and splatter the mustard seeds.
  • Add chopped onion, bay leaves and cumin seeds and fry until golden and soft.
  • Tilsett ingefær og knuste korianderfrø.
  • Then add the tomatoes and cook until the oil comes up.
  • Add the cooked red* lentils and taste with chili powder and salt.
    Serve with fresh coriander.
  • Eat the dahl with rice and your favourite veggies. Enjoy!

Notes

  • *red lentils are more orange in colour and when cooked almost yellow.
